Lovely Lily Pad Sale-a-bration Card

I just want to share a couple of cards I made using some of the FREE Stampin'Up! product from the Sale-a-bration promotion. These cards use the Lovely Lily Pad Photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper. These are the FREE Sale-a-bration items.

I colored the flower with the Aqua Painter after stamping the image with Melon Mambo Stampin'Pad the color from the ink spreads beautifully to color the image. I cut the oval white panel with the Stitched Shapes Dies.

I love the rich colors in the cardstock and Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper. The cardstock is Pretty Peacock, I adhered the Designer Series Paper panel on Garden Green Cardstock. The Lily Pad is stamped with Garden Green Stampin'Pad on Garden Green Cardstock.

Here is another idea using the smaller images in the Lovely Lily Pad set. I used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut the white circle panel. The greeting is from another stamp set in both cards and is not included in the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set.

I colored the flowers with again using the Aqua Painter just after stamping them with the Melon Mambo Stampin'Pad for a watercolor look.

The Sale-a-bration promotion ends March 31. You can earn FREE product for each $50 in purchases before shipping and tax. Click here to see all the Sale-a-bration stamps and accessories.

Hope you like my cards and are all staying healthy during this difficult pandemic!

Cats Have Nine Lives Maybe We Do Too

I decided to play with the wonderful Nine Lives Stamp Set today! This is a card for a friend who just became the proud owners of a new kitty! The kitty is white with black spots so I thought I would stamp one to look just like the real kitty. I just used a black and white theme with a pop of color. This is one of my favorite color themes. It is so striking!

I used some retired Stampin'Up! product in making this card. The stamp set is still available and you can purchase it on my website.
I used the Stitched Shapes Dies and the Layering Circle Dies for the circle image. You can't tell from the photo but under the Melon Mambo circle is a scalloped circle using Basic Black cardstock The cardstock used is Thick Whisper White, Basic Black and Melon Mambo. I stamped the kitty with Black Memento Pad using the Stamparatus to line the images up perfectly. I used the Cat Punch to punch out the cat image and the adhered the image to the Melon Mambo panel using Stampin'Dimensionals. The cat image is a two step stamping technique.

I hope you like my Nine Lives card and it inspires you to create! Have a great day!

Remember if you are at home because of this viral outbreak be sure to do something to take your mind off things! Mental health is important and this situation is really hard! When you are use to working 5 days a week for at least 8 hours a day and you are raising a family, you probably are not use to having much time for anything else.  Now is the time to scrapbook, learn to play music, make greeting cards, woodworking, read a novel and so on. Just don't watch too much TV or be on the internet too much, You need to get away for the constant bombardment of the coronavirus news! I can't wait for the weather to warm up and we can at least get outside and go for a walk! Lots of walks!

More Honey Bee Cards

The scallop circle was cut with Gold cardstock using the layering circles dies.

To make the background on this card I just cut a template with the die and sponged over it using the Daffodil Delight Stampin'Pad.

This one is very simple! It needs some bling I think! This one isn't totally my idea, I saw a similar card on Pinterest. There are plenty of ideas on Pinterest. If you are new to card making, don't try to come up with your own idea at first. There are also plenty of card sketches online that you can use as a pattern. It takes too much time when you are new to the hobby to come up with your own design. After awhile the creative juices with start to flow.

Here is a gate fold card in black and gold. So striking isn't it! Again a CASE'd card. The paper is from the now retired Golden Honey Designer Series Paper for the Sale-a-bration brochure. It was designed to coordinate with the Honey Bee stamp set which is in the Occasions Catalog.

I hope you like my assortment of Honey Bee cards! There are plenty more ideas for the Honey Bee stamp set and die bundle. So from someone who has been a card maker a long time, I recommend this bundle! You get 10% off when you buy it as a bundle but you can buy separately too. It is currently not available  as it has been a very popular bundle. I will post a notice when it is back in stock.

I hope everyone has a great day! Be sure to take time to de-stress during this difficult time. Remember social distancing, stay home as much as possible, wash your hands, and keep your hands away from your face. I hear California is now "shelter in place" for the whole state!  It is important during times like this to take care of your mental health! Find something you can do indoors that you enjoy! Mine happens to be papercrafting. A lot of people can work from home and still be productive and that will help too. Keep busy and find some joy!

Honey Bee Card and Covid-19

I am so sad about the current Covid-19 Pandemic and am staying at home and not going out much. I am a retired RN as of 18 months ago and I know the ramifications of this if people do not comply. I am worried about my former co-workers who will be on the front lines of this if it hits our area strong.  I pray for our country and for the people in Europe that are currently being hit hard with this infection.

I decided to do some card making just to get my mind off things and it really helps! If you are stuck at home because of this virus, please try to do something like crafting, it really is therapy! Making these cards yesterday was so good for me! I really enjoyed being creative and it did take my mind off the situation for awhile. I read a post online from a gal in Italy that took up coloring using an adult coloring book. She said it really helps her. It is surprising really how much it helps. We have to think about our mental health during this time.

I stamped yesterday using the new Honey Bee Stamp Set and Detailed Bee Dies. This is such a fun bundle of products. They apparently are very popular as they are currently out of stock. I used the FREE Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-bration brochure.

The above card turned out really pretty. It was a easy card to make I just made the Bee cut out the focal point. I used Thick Whisper White cardstock as the base.

I added some gold thread under the Basic Black circle cut out just to add interest to the focal point. I don't think you can tell from the photo but the flower in the paper is gold, so the gold thread helps pull this all together.

I hope you like my card and it inspires you to get creative! I made several more with this set and will post more tomorrow.

Stay Strong! Please follow the recommendations to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Stay home as much as possible. Absolutely stay home if you are sick, even if it is the common cold. Consciously think about not touching your face! This one is hard to get use too! You do it so automatically. Wash your hands frequently! This is what we do in the hospital all the time. We foam in and out ( hand santizer) of a patients room even if they don't have an infection! Prevention is always key!

Hugs,

Shelly

Snowman Season Treat Bag, Gift Tags and Year End Closeout

Isn't this just darling? This is my favorite way to use the 3 x 6 Gusseted Cellophane Bags. These bags are in the Annual Stampin'Up! Catalog and are also my gift to my online customers who place an order in December using this months Host Code.

I used a strip of Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper for the inside of the bag. I cut the strip to 2 3/4" x 9" and then score at 1". 3", 7 1/2". I stapled the bag shut and placed my image over the staple.

I rubbed the Embossing Buddy over some Real Red cardstock and then stamped my image with the Versamark Pad and sprinkled White Embossing Powder over it and heated it with the Heat Tool. I added some Rhinestones around the image. I had cut the image with the Stitched Shapes Dies and attached it to a scalloped circle which was cut with Costal Cabana cardstock using the Layering Circles Dies. The ribbon is in the Coastal Cabana color and is currently retired by Stampin'Up!

I had some leftover small pieces of the Let It Snow DSP and did not want to waste it so I made a couple of gift tags with them. The photo makes this look like a card but it is a 3" x 3" card that I am using as a gift tag. I stamped to and from inside the tag. This is included in the Snowman Season Stamp Set. The Real Red cardstock square under the snowman is cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies. The snowman was stamped and then punched out with the Snowman Punch. I layered the DSP on Shaded Spruce cardstock cut to 3" x 6"  and then folded in half to get the 3 x 3 size.

Here is another gift tag using Coastal Cabana cardstock and the Let It Snow DSP. They turned out really cute.

I hope you like my projects.  This bundle of products will retire the end of December and will no longer be available.

Stampin'Up! has released the Year End Closeout list which does include some discounted items. Also available is the retiring products list. You can view these lists here.

Snowman Season Christmas Cards and December Host Code Gift

Snowman Season Bundle #152337 Save 10%

I can't believe it is December already! Where has this year gone? It is definitely time to start making your holiday cards!! I want to show you a fun bundle which includes the Snowman Punch and the Snowman Season stamp set. It is just so much fun to work with, so festive!

The colors are so striking! I used Coastal Cabana, Shaded Spruce and Real Red. These are the colors in the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper that coordinates with this stamp set.
The snowman was stamped and then cut out using the Stitched Shapes Dies and the the Layering Circles Dies (the scalloped large die). I colored the Snowman scarf and hat
with Light Shaded Spruce Stampin'Blend Marker and the Light Real Red Stampin'Blend Marker. I added some Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the falling snow image above the snowman. I sprinkled some clear glitter over the Puff Paint.

Snowfall Accents Puff Paint #150691

Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper #150393

I used the Snowman Punch to make the above card. Isn't he cute!! I cut a oval panel with Stitched Shapes Framelits and mounted the Snowman on it using Stampin'Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment on Real Red Cardstock with Versamark Stamp Pad and then covered it with White Embossing Powder and embossed it with the Heat Tool. I rubbed  the Embossing Buddy over the cardstock first before heat embossing to remove the static from the paper so as to not get unwanted embossing powder sticking to other areas of the cardstock.

Using Painted Harvest Stamp Set for Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a small gathering this year and I decided to incorporate a papercrafting project into my Thanksgiving table setting.  I worked ahead on this so as not to be cooking and stamping at the same time. There is more on this project in this post here.

Here is a close up of my project. I used old baby pictures of everyone and copied them to insert into the frame. The baby in the picture above is ME! It is a very old picture for sure! I had these sitting at everyone's place at the table. The sentiment on the photo frame is from the Painted Harvest stamp set and says "Gather Together and Give Thanks". Really just perfect for a Thanksgiving project.

I just love the Sunflower images in this stamp set, so detailed because of the two-stamp stamping technique. It yields a beautiful watercolor effect image. There are no dies to cut out the image. I cut it out by hand using Paper Snips. There is a Leaf Punch to punch out the leaves.

Don't forget to view how to make this project on my previous post about this project.

Don't forget my November Host Code ends November 30!
